Creative strategists / Practical guide

From a rising post to a creative hypothesis you can actually test.

Connect the reference, the measured response and the idea you want to adapt.

Keep the evidence beside the idea.

Running campaigns means constantly testing angles, hooks and visuals. Guessing consumes production time; collecting references without context creates a different problem. You end up with a folder of interesting posts and no clear reason to use them.

Catchrise brings the content and its recorded growth together. Select a post, inspect the interval and save the example. The measurement tells you what changed. Watching the content lets you form a hypothesis about what may be worth adapting.

Write three separate lines.

Begin with the observation, then your interpretation, then the proposed test. For example: “This demonstration gained views between our checks. It introduces the problem before showing the product. We will test a problem-first opening against our current opening.”

The second line is your creative reading, not a causal finding from Catchrise. The tool does not provide a second-by-second retention curve, skip rate or the exact moment a viewer liked a video.

  • Observation: the metric, gain and interval you can verify.
  • Hypothesis: the opening, proof, structure or visual you think deserves testing.
  • Adaptation: what you will change for your product and audience.

Build a library you can return to.

Save references in folders and add notes that a future collaborator could understand. Record the reason you kept the post, the element you want to test and what you would do differently. Open the original again before production to check that your interpretation still holds.

Compare more than one example and include a weaker example when it helps challenge the idea. A clear brief does not need to claim why a post went viral. It needs to tell the team what to make and what the next test should teach you.

Try this

Choose one rising post and write the three-line brief. Then find a second example that could support or challenge your interpretation.
